Major Renovations Program (NSTAR, NGRID, Cape Light Compact &
Western Massachusetts Electric Company)
The Major Renovations Program provides homeowners who are renovating, remodeling or making other home improvements the opportunity to increase the energy performance of the home. Residential Energy Service Network, or RESNET, develops national standards for energy efficiency rating systems. RESNET certified home energy raters, or HERS (Home Energy Rating System) raters, measure relative energy use on the HERS index and make recommendations for cost effective improvements that can be achieved by the rated building.
