The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has recognized Massachusetts New Homes with ENERGY STAR as a Partner of the Year for two years in a row. The program was recognized by the EPA for making outstanding contributions to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by bringing ENERGY STAR to scores of communities in the region, spurring an increase in high performance homes. 
The JMC has been a new construction partner with the EPA since 1997 and has labeled thousands of homes since the program’s inception. ENERGY STAR Homes has worked diligently to overcome market barriers related to lack of awareness and understanding about the benefits of high performance design and construction. Examples of regional efforts designed to address industry market barriers include builder education and training, energy code support, media press outreach, ally leveraging, and homebuyer education.
