An Award-Winning Program
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has awarded the Massachusetts New Homes with ENERGY STAR a 2010 ENERGY STAR Sustained Excellence Award in recognition of the program’s continued leadership in protecting our environment through energy efficiency. The Joint Management Committee, an ENERGY STAR partner since 1998, was honored for its long-term commitment to energy efficient new construction through the Massachusetts New Homes with ENERGY STAR Program.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recognized Massachusetts New Homes with ENERGY STAR as a Partner of the Year for two years in a row in 2008 and 2009. The program was recognized by the EPA for its outstanding contributions to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by bringing ENERGY STAR to scores of communities in the region, spurring an increase in high performance homes.
The JMC has been a new construction partner with the EPA since 1997 and has labeled thousands of homes since the program’s inception. ENERGY STAR Homes has worked diligently to overcome market barriers related to lack of awareness and understanding about the benefits of high performance design and construction. Examples of regional efforts designed to address industry market barriers include builder education and training, energy code support, media press outreach, ally leveraging, and homebuyer education.
We are proud to partner with the EPA on the nationwide ENERGY STAR initiative to raise awareness regarding energy consumption, and to offer energy-efficient solutions that save consumers money while protecting the environment.
